Kiwanis International is a thriving organization of service and community
minded individuals who support children and young adults around the world.
More than 600,000 Kiwanis-family members in 92 countries make their mark
by responding to the needs of their communities and here in Anaheim, the
Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim is doing just that.  Club meetings are
conducted each Thursday morning, 7:30 a.m., at the Clarion Resort, just
south of Disneyland.  The meetings offer an atmosphere of fun, learning, and
fellowship.  In addition to attending the meetings, the typical Kiwanian
volunteers each month to assist with club service projects.  We encourage
you to visit our club and, more importantly, roll up your sleeves and join us in
a myriad of local service projects.
Leadership Anaheim promotes the development of dedicated, knowledgeable
men and women who are interested in serving as Anaheim's future leaders.
The nine-month program meets one full day a month and exposes
participants to local government, accessing the system, civic affairs and
general knowledge of the Anaheim community - law, justice, community
services, tourism, transportation, education, health care, business &
economic development, public works, utilities, volunteer opportunities,
cultural issues.  Civic unity and community leadership are encouraged and
strengthened.  Tuition is $1200 for the program--scholarships are available.

At a nominal cost, the all-volunteer group home delivers a hot meal for lunch
and a cold meal with milk in the evenings to homebound Anaheim citizens,
Monday through Friday.  Since beginning in 1973, Meal on Wheels has
delivered more than one million meals.  Drivers with their own vehicles are
needed two hours a day every other week to continue this needed service for

The Orange County Conservation Corps serves young, at-risk adults
through employment, training and educational programs that build self-
sufficiency and benefit the community through conservation-related projects.
The Corps serves out-of-school youth, 18-25, through a mandated three-part
program of work, education and community service, including academic
development, life skills and job-specific training.  Work projects are
environmentally-based and benefit the community.  For some, the OCCC is
a last chance to avoid gangs, stay free of drug abuse, avert incarceration,
and ultimately ensure a positive life for themselves as working, productive
members of their community.
